Getting On Schedule...

Haven't quite figured out the best time to write. I'll figure out how to get on schedule with this thing tonight.

But now I'm off to work, so this is definitely not the best time! I'll try better tonight.

As Dan Moore Might Ask: "What's The Porpoise of This?"

It's 9:00pm on a Sunday night, March 15th, 2009. I just downloaded the new Kelly Clarkson CD (through legal channels--of course), so I'm feeling pretty Poppy.

Editor's Note: Just realized I couldn't concentrate with Kelly playing. Even though my life (my life!) would suck (would suck!) without her, I simply can not type more than two sentences without her making me lose my train of thought. (You would too if you kept saying "Cool Beans" to yourself every 30 seconds...) From here on out, just assume I'm listening to John Mayer --as his music is the only kind that I can listen to without getting completely sidetracked (mainly because I've listened to his music so much that it's just second nature for his music to play in the background while I concentrate on something else.) Thank you John, I owe you one.

Every Monday morning a group of about a dozen members of Texas Heritage meet in a conference room in a building in Austin, TX. I like where we hold our meetings. The conference room we're in is much bigger than the one in the old building we used to meet at, but more importantly, the coffee is better. Not just in taste, but in the way it's made. I can not describe to you how amazing our coffee machine is; you'll just have to take my word for it. Should I continue this blog for a while, I might just record a video of its greatness. This should be reason enough for you all to want me to continue this blog. For now, just imagine Starbucks combined with Screech's Robot, Kevin, and that's how great it is... times TEN!

So everything about our Monday Morning Meetings (3M) is great, but I always get frustrated over one thing: I can never tell my stories from the field properly. When asked to comment on something great from the previous week, I usually end up telling a 1 minute story that barely grasps the greatness (or "coolbeanness," if you will) of my experience. 50% of the reason is because by the time Monday comes around I forget all the cool details from what happened the previous week, and the other 50% is because Barry Bandera likes his stories like I the way I preferred my 9th English Novels: Cliffs-Noted :-)...and the OTHER 50% is because I can never verbalize my stories as well as I can notarize them. (I just googled "notarize" and realized that is not the word I'm looking for...but I'm a little too lazy to figure out what word I want to use, so hopefully you know what I mean.

So that's basically what this blog will be for. So you can read all about my work stories before I forget them, and so I can tell them with the respect and detail that they deserve. ("Say what you need to say." Well put, Mr. Mayer.)

Why a blog, and not a diary? Well, I hate diaries because only I can read them. I mean, what's the point of writing something only I will read? I might as well just save my energy and think them. My arthritis-avoided fingers would thank me. But since I want others to have the chance to experience what happens to me day-to-day, my fingers will just have to suck it up.

I have no idea what direction this blog is going to go. I have no idea how long or how often I'm going to keep up with it. I don't even know if anyone will be interested in reading my ramblings about my job selling "Cancer Insurance." It's times like now that I wish I was in the Army...or an exotic stripper. Either way, I guarantee my stories would be easier to make entertaining. Sometimes my entries will be comical, other times I'm sure a tone of seriousness will be required. (Although I'll try to keep it as light as possible, since I only take my job seriously, not myself.) Either way, just glad to have to have you all along for the ride! Cool Beans!

Let's find out where this will take us! Have a Fun and Productive Week!
